PUGS PUGS PUGS!
This post is dedicated to my friend Matt. He really loves pugs! They usually stay small and they are just a bundle of fun. These dogs are classified as brachycephalic dogs-- meaning that they have short noses that give them the "squished face look". Due to this, usually they develop breathing problems in warm/hot weather and they snort and snore a lot. They also have a cute curly-q tail! Although the wrinkles on their faces are adorable, owners should make sure they wash and dry between them properly so they don't develop infections. They don't have thick double coats so it isn't too hard to maintain their coats, but they still need frequent brushing. Pugs are really durable and healthy for their size. They are also wonderful with children and make great family pets:)
Given the description, is the pug the dog for you? Stay tuned for more upcoming posts about other breeds!

This blog is so cute! I love the name Alice in Puppyland, so clever! Typically, I don't think pugs are the cutest of all dogs but the picture of this one is precious. I used to have a miniature dachshund named Missy but she passed away a few years ago. She was almost 20 years old in human years. After she passed, my mom didn't want to get another dog. Eventually I would like to get another. Either another miniature dachshund or a teacup yorkie. They are so cute and tiny and I love how they can be brought anywhere!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love pugs and puggles (pug beagle mix)! If you haven't seen a puggle, and you like pugs, just Google it! I have been searching for a dog to buy for my graduation present! I think it will be between a pug/puggle or a french bulldog! They are also simply adorable, playful, and smart. I think they're great city dogs because they don't grow to be too large, yet are still great companions.
ReplyDeleteOMG!! sooo cute! I have a dog of my own...but not a pug! they are cute although the snoring can definitely be a little disturbing sometimes. my friend has 3 pugs and loves them to death. They are very cute!! Personally, I would prefer a Maltese or a chitzu more for me but I think they are absolutely loving creatures and such great friends!
ReplyDeleteI Love this idea for a blog! The picture is adorable and growing up my best friend had a pug so I definitely have a love for them. I love dogs! At home I've had two golden retrievers and at school I have my own dog who is a german shepherd/lab mix and my roommate has a golden lab puppy so I am around dogs all the time! Personally, a pug is not for me because as you might tell from the dogs in my life I prefer bigger dogs. I do think that pugs make great pets though, aside from the snoring and sneezing, they are great dogs and very cute!
ReplyDeleteThis blog is so precious! As a dog-lover, I would definitely come to this site a lot. Although pugs aren't my favorite breed, they are definitely adorable and very lovable. I actually have a dog at home. His name is Charlie and he is a maltese/yorkshire terrier mix. He's probably a little bigger than pugs but he also has a squiggly tail except it is much longer. Anyway, I hope you continue this blog in the future because I would love to visit it again!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good idea for a blog! Lots of people out there like getting to know general information about a breed before even considering seeing actual dogs. I think pugs are adorable! However, I would never get one..I'm a big dog kind of a person. Regardless, I think it's good that you included informative details about the breed, like about the washing/drying thoroughly fact. We all want to know the goods and bads of a particular breed. Cute picture, but I'll stick to my German Shepherds and Huskies! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jennifer's response. My friend was currently looking at different dogs should could buy. But I do really love Pugs! They are so cute. Did you ever see the Men In Black II movie with Frank the Pug? He wears a little black suit... dogs in clothes are just hilarious to me. I have Shitzu. You should post something about them. They are so cute and playful and smart too!!
ReplyDeleteGiven the description pugs are NOT the dogs for me. I'm afraid of small animals. I love protective and aggressive dogs (I grew up with rottweilers and pit bulls). I only think pugs are cute up until a certain age. You said they also snore a lot and I'm a light sleeper. Hence WE will NOT get along very well.
